RENO, Ohio (WTAP) - Water service for customers on several streets in Reno will be interrupted for 2 to 3 hours on Thursday morning, so Marietta Water crews can install a new water line valve.
The City of Marietta Water Distribution Department will be installing a new shut off valve on a water service line on Thursday August 3rd, 2017. Water service for the following areas and customers will be interrupted beginning @ approximately 8:00 A.M.:
Tennis Center Drive; Sunnyview Drive; Brandy Drive; Summers Rubber; Goyle Engineering; Freedom Gate Church; Leslie Equipment; Auto Parts Plus/Marietta Ignition Warehouse; Center Court Apartments; Mar Ren Manor Apartments; Pioneer Pre-Owned Auto.
The water will be off approximately 2 to 3 hours to complete the work barring no unforeseen circumstances.
After the work is completed and the water service is restored, the system will be flushed to provide adequate chlorine levels for disinfection purposes.
There will be a “Boil Advisory” in effect for 24 hours after the water service is restored.
It is recommended that customers rapid boil any water used for drinking and/or food preparation for approximately 1 to 2 minutes following restoration of water service.
Customers could also experience brown (mineral deposits) or milky (trapped air) water from the depressurization of the water main and should flush their cold water lines only until water is clear.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the water outage call the Water Treatment Plant at 740-374-6864.
