Area football players bound for college

It's round 2 of college football's national letter of intent signing period. and some area athlete's have made their college football future plans.

2 Parkersburg High Big Reds are heading to the northern panhandle to be a part of history.

Dylan Richards and Gavin Perkins will be part of building of a football program at Wheeling Jesuit University.

The Big Reds will become Cardinals for the new NCAA Division II football program at at the Mountain East Conference school.

They had their their signing ceremonies with their families, friends and PHS coach Mike Byus on hand to witness the occasion.

Both Dylan and Gavin are looking forward to their opportunities to grow with a new program and continue to play the sport they love.

In Williamstown, Blake Neely signed on the dotted line. Blake is joining the Hilltoppers of West Liberty University's football program.

Blake just finished off a great 4 year run as one of the anchors of the Yellowjackets offensive and defensive lines.

He's earned first team all conference honors,.and first team all state recognition his senior season.

Blake credits his 4 years at Williamstown for helping develop his skills and his work ethic.

The coaches at West Liberty expressed an interest in Blake, and when he looked into the school, he was sold on the Hilltoppers.
