The latest high school football ratings were released in West Virginia Tuesday afternoon, and the St. Marys Blue Devils have reached a familiar ranking.
The defending Class A state champion Blue Devils are once again the number 1 ranked team in this weeks ratings for the Mountain State's small school division.
Coach Jodi Mote's Blue Devils are a perfect 3-0 on the season and are coming off of an impressive 63-19 victory over Marietta High School last Thursday. That win against a bigger out of state school racked up a slew of bonus points for the Devils in the rankings.
The Devils are on a bye week this week before returning to action in week 6 against the Williamstown Yellowjackets.
The first computer ratings of the season are out in the Buckeye State, and the Waterford Wildcats are very much in playoff contention.
The Wildcats debut in a tie for 6th place in the Division VII Region 27 rankings.
The 'Cats are 3-1 after last Friday's win over Trimble, and they're on the road at Frontier this Friday.
The Fort Frye Cadets are also in a familar position. The Cadets are one of the frontrunners in the first Division VI, Region 23 rankings of the season.
The Cadets are ranked 7th on the strength of their 3-1 record. Fort Frye is coming off of a big win over Warren last week, and they are gearing up for a road trip against Monroe Central this Friday.
At the end of the season, the top 8 teams in each region are headed to the playoffs.
