ATHENS, Ohio – Ohio sophomore quarterback Nathan Rourke (Ontario, Canada) has earned a trip of player of the week awards being named the Mid-American Conference East Offensive Player of the Week by the MAC, MAC Offensive Player of the Week by CollegeSportsMadness.com and a Manning Award Star of the Week following his performance against Miami last week.
Rourke earns trio of MAC honors
Rourke was responsible for six touchdowns, including three rushing, in a 45-28 win over Miami on Oct. 31. Rourke finished with 54 rushing yards and 294 passing yards, a career-high, going 21-33 with no interceptions and no sacks.
Rourke leads the MAC in overall scoring (96) and rushing touchdowns (16) and ranks fourth with 2,057 yards of total offense. Rourke's 16 rushing touchdowns ranks second all-time at Ohio and his 29 touchdowns responsible for also ranks second.
Rourke ranks second in the NCAA in rushing touchdowns, total points (96) and total touchdowns, fourth in scoring (96), fifth in points responsible for and 10th in points responsible for per game.
Prior to this week, Rourke was named the MAC East Offensive Player of the Week twice and had previously been named a Manning Award Star of the Week once.
Ohio returns to action hosting MAC west division leading Toledo on Wednesday at Peden Stadium in an ESPN2 broadcasted game which will kick at 7 p.m. ET.
