The 2008 high school football season kicks off in Ohio on Friday. The opening night features an all Washington County clash in Vincent.
The Warren Warriors are hosting the Belpre Golden Eagles. The Warriors are looking to beat their rivals for the second year in a row. While the Eagles are out to avenge last year's loss and begin a road they hope leads back to the playoffs.
The Marietta Tigers face a tough test out on the road. First year head coach Andy Schob is taking his team to Hilliard to face a Darby high school team that was ranked sixth in the state last season.
The Waterford Wildcats and Fort Frye Cadets also have new head coaches, and they both begin the season on the road
The Wildcats, under the guidance of Chad Ross, will head south to play South Gallia.
The Cadets, now coached by Eric Huck, face a tough test on the road against a powerhouse River Pilots squad.
The Frontier Cougars are also on the road. They will try to bring down the Shenandoah Zeps
Mike DeVol makes his return as head coach at Caldwell. DeVol, who had a state championship run at Parkersburg South in 2004, will lead his team into Stewart to take on Federal Hocking
