it was not the sendoff that one of the most talented senior classes at West Virginia University had expected.
The Pinstripe Bowl experience started out as a cold, dreary and snowy day...and went downhill from there.
Syracuse used a power running game and a stifling defense to shutdown the Mountaineers 38-14.
Prince-Tyson Gulley rushed for 217 yards and 2 touchdowns, and was also on the receiving end of a touchdown pass to lead the way.
The Orange defense frustrated Geno Smith in his final game a WVU quarterback. Pounding him for a pair of safeties and holding the high powered Mountaineer offense to just a pair of touchdowns
West Virginia wraps up a disappointing season at 7-6
