It's about more than math. This month's Jan Dils Golden Apple winner is adding laughter to the lives of his students and subtracting stress.
The students at Parkersburg South High School say Mr. Paul Miller takes a tough subject and makes it manageable with his great personality.
He hopes his students take as much from his class as he gets from spending time with them.
"I hope they take not only the knowledge of the math that I've taught, but also about life, and how to approach life in a positive way every day, I know it's hard in these times, but I hope that's one of the things they get out of my class," says Mr. Miller.
He's been teaching at South for 35 years. Soon, he's putting away his calculator. Mr. Miller is retiring at the end of this school year.
