Our Golden Apple winner for the month of March has been teaching for more than 20 years.

WTAP surprised Jan Dils Golden Apple winner Mrs. Brenda Metz at the Wirt County Primary School Tuesday afternoon.

This extraordinary educator is shaping the minds of our little learners in a big way.

Mrs. Metz teachers kindergarten, but is switching to preschool starting in the fall.

The grandparent of one of her students nominated her, saying Mrs. Metz goes above and beyond the call of duty.

She says there are two things she wants her students to take away from her classroom...That learning is fun and reading is fantastic!
