A plan is in the works to redevelop 12 acres of land in Parkersburg.
The city is considering using the area at the intersection of Depot and East Street, along the Little Kanawha River, as an area for recreation.
This is the site where the old Vitro Agate Marble Factory stands.
Some proposals for the development include a Frisbee golf course, a boat ramp and a marina with a restaurant.
"This is a very good point on the river that you have easy access for boating and boat docks and so forth. So, it would tie in very well. And also, it's right on the bike trail," Mayor Bob Newell said.
If you'd like to learn more about the project and be a part of the planning process, you can attend a public comment meeting Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Parkersburg Boys and Girls Club.
