The planned closing of yet another major Mid-Ohio Valley employer is being met with concern by area residents. 310 employees are expected to be without jobs by late this winter, when the walker systems plant in Williamstown closes down.
Residents we spoke to say it's just another example of the continuing loss of manufacturing jobs locally, and across the country.
"There's no jobs around here. We're getting poorer and poorer, I guess," said Sharon Barker of Wood County, who has had cousins working at Walker.
Walker draws much of its workforce not only from Williamstown, but also from Wood County, and parts of Ohio.
