Columbus, Ohio (AP) -- A new poll in the Ohio Governor's race shows Republican challenger John Kasich has a big lead over Gov. Ted Strickland.
The poll released Thursday by Quinnipiac University shows Kasich has surged ahead since the end of June when Strickland had a slight lead.
The poll finds Kasich with a 54-37 margin.
Voters gave Strickland failing grades on his handling of the economy, and four out of five say they're not happy with the way things are going in Ohio.
The survey of 730 likely Ohio voters was taken Sept. 9 to Sept. 14. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
