While it couldn't be delivered in much of Washington County Tuesday, the mail was being processed.
With Marietta's Post Office hit by high water, Belpre's Post Office is being used to process mail for Marietta and nearby communities devastated by this weekend's flooding.
The big question is, while the mail has been processed, when can flooded-out residents find it in their mailboxes?
"As soon as we can safely enter the building and get the cars out of the parking lot, we'll have delivery," said Henry Schmedes, supervisor for the Marietta Post Office. "We believe we'll have delivery in Marietta Tuesday."
Depending on how quick flood waters recede will determine when mail delivery to the Marietta area will resume.
