With the cold often comes the flu. In some parts of the nation, health agencies are actually starting to see a surplus in flu shot doses.
In our area the restrictions which have been in place this fall still apply now.
The Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department says it has not received any more doses of the vaccine. A flu shot clinic is scheduled for Friday, but shots are still being limited to high-risk people.
Environmental director Steve Bayer says that with no major flu outbreaks being reported, enough of the vaccine could create a surplus come January.
