Finally, students at Wood County's elementary schools were wearing a number of different hats Friday.
It was all an effort to raise money for a variety of causes.
"Hat Day" has been held in the elementary schools for several years as well as in private schools such as Parkersburg Christian School.
Kids at Jefferson Elementary were raising money for the Wood County Society Telethon, which WTAP will be airing at the end of February.
"I'm a former band member and VIP for the Wood County Society," said pre-school teacher Mary Ann Osburne. "We have done Hat Day to supplement the other programs of the society."
And since it was President's Day, Osburne's students were learning about Abraham Lincoln, and of course, his famed stove-pipe hat.
