The Athens post of the Ohio Highway Patrol is currently investigating a two-vehicle double-fatality crash that occurred on U.S. Route 33 Thursday in Athens County.
Stephen Snider, 63, of Logan, Ohio was operating a 2003 Pontiac Montana west on U.S. 33. Mr. Snider was transported to Doctors Hospital in Nelsonville with non-life threatening injuries. An additional passenger in the Pontiac, William Rose, 64, of New Straitsville, Ohio was transported to O'Blenness Hospital in Athens with non-life threatening injuries. The other two occupants in the Pontiac Montana, Larry Jarvis, 75, of Logan, Ohio and Donald Stepleton, 79, of Pickerington, Ohio were killed in the crash.
Stephen Snider was traveling west on U.S. 33 when a 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier operated by Lacey Warren, 17, of Nelsonville, Ohio pulled from New Floodwood Road and into the path of Mr. Snider's vehicle. An occupant in the Cavalier, Shawn Detwiller, 18, of Nelsonville was also transported to Doctors Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Seat belts were in use by all occupants. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected in the crash.
