Funeral services are set for Saturday for a former Wood County commissioner and law enforcement officer.
Dexter Buckley, Jr. died Wednesday morning at his Belleville home.
Buckley, the son of Deputy Sheriff Dexter Buckley, was elected to the County Commission in 1980.
Current Commissioner Rick Modesitt, who along with Buckley was a Parkersburg police officer, says Buckley loved helping people.
"He was great to work with; he loved people and trying to help them," Modesitt said in a statement Wednesday. "He was always a supporter of mine and helped spark my interest in elective office."
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 Saturday morning at the Kimes Funeral Home. Visitation is set for 2 to 8 p.m. Friday.
