It was part of the Vienna landscape for nearly 100 years...but the Johns-Manville plant is slowly coming down.
Demolition of the plant, for which preparation work began earlier this year, is now under way.
Manville was a major employer in Vienna and the valley, until it closed in 2003.
One of its products, as we reported in the 1980's, was headliners for auto makers such as Ford and Honda.
The project developer told us last year that demolition on the 35-acre site would last about two years.
