The state of Ohio is taking steps to make you more aware of sex offenders living in your neighborhood.
A new program uses growing technology that now only allows you to view offenders living near you, but will also alert you as soon as a sex offender moves into your area.
The program will send you an e-mail when anyone who registers as a sex offender moves within one mile of your home.
The e-mail will include the address of the offender, a map and any other information available on the person.
Sheriff Larry Mincks says there are 62 registered sex offenders in Washington County.
You can view these offenders and sign up for the email notifications by visiting www.washingtoncounty sheriff.org.
