Arrests Made in Mineral Wells Case

Akron Police have made three arrests in the case of the decapitated body in Mineral Wells.

Forty-three-year-old Derek Shutt and 31-year-old Jason Keenan were arrested in Akron Thursday, in connection to the murder of Steven Spade of Mogadore.

Shutt is charged with aggravated murder, kidnapping, and tampering with evidence.

Keenan will face similar charges of tampering with evidence and obstructing justice.

Twenty-year-old Lisa Penix was also arrested late Thursday night outside Billings, Montana. She is charged with complicity to commit aggravated murder, kidnapping and tampering with evidence.

In addition, Akron authorities are still looking for two more suspects, 27-year-old Patrick Rafferty and 20-year-old William Kramer.

Police say the victim, Steven Spade, was beaten, shot in the back of the head and be-headed. His body was dumped in a field off Butcher Bend Road.
