Apartment Explosion

Parkersburg police continue to investigate an explosion early Monday morning on Market Street.

According to detectives, an unknown person threw a lit explosive device into an apartment near the intersection of Market and 11th Streets.

The state fire Marshall is still investigating what type of explosive was used.

Several people were inside the apartment at the time of the explosion, but only one person, identified as Adam Brown, suffered minor injuries.

Authorities are continuing to interview witnesses to piece together what exactly happened.

The apartment building suffered some damage to the walls and floor, but officials say the structural integrity is still okay.
