Wood County's Democratic Executive Committee must now have to determine how to break a tie in the Democratic race for 10th delegate district.
The race for the third party candidate was officially declared a tie Wednesday, after a hand count of ballots from last week's primary was completed.
That means the committee may decide whether Iris McCrady or Tim Fittro will be on the November ballot.
"If there is no agreement to the contrary, what will happen is, we will have a special meeting, which will be open to the public," says party chairman Walt Auvil. "There will be a presentation by the candidates and a vote by the committee, and the winner will be on the ballot for the general."
The options also could include a coin toss, depending on whether the candidates agree to it.
Wood County Clerk Jamie Six says that the candidates also have until Friday afternoon to decide whether to request a recount of the results.
