NEW MARTINSVILLE, W.Va. (AP) - Two schools in New Martinsville are closed because of an odor.
Media outlets report that authorities evacuated Magnolia High School and New Martinsville Elementary School on Tuesday after an odor was detected in each building.
Wetzel County Schools Superintendent Diane Watt says the odor later dissipated and the state fire marshal checked the schools.
New Martinsville Police Chief Tim Cecil says the type of odor and its source aren't clear.
Classes will resume Wednesday.
