College Students Carpooling to Save Money

By  |

College alone can really put a strain on your wallet, and when you add gas prices on top of that, it can be tough for students on a budget.

Officials at Washington State Community College understand the impact high gas prices are having on students.

So they've set up a carpooling program to help students save money.

David Scheimann who created the program, says it's something that could really benefit people going to a community college.

"We are a commuter college, so students don't live here. We have different problems from someone say at OU or WVU where they don't have to travel back and forth all the time," Scheimann said.

Students can apply for the carpooling program on the college's web site, or by signing up on a bulletin board in the school's main building.
