West Virginia congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito has been selected to participate in a congressional fact-finding trip to Afghanistan.
The Second District Republican was among six representatives picked by House Speaker Dennis Hastert of Illinois to participate in the five-day trip, which starts Friday.
Capito says if members of congress educate themselves about the day-to-day activities in Afghanistan, they'll be better prepared to provide strong leadership and make wise decisions dealing with the military, homeland defense and international relations.
