Ohio hunters took to the woods early this morning and many came out halfway through the day with a hearty appetite.
The Barlow Volunteer Fire Department served soups, sandwiches and desserts to the hungry hunters.
Community members were also welcome to enjoy the free meal.
People say they enjoy taking a mid-day break to meet up with friends.
The fire department will be serving the meal through Saturday from eleven to two each day.
The season that started Monday allows the legal hunting of white-tailed deer with a gun from one half-hour before sunrise to sunset through Dec. 7.
The Ohio Division of Wildlife also has scheduled an extra weekend of gun hunting Dec. 20-21.
