It's only January, but it's already time for folks to start thinking about this year's primary elections.
Officials at the Washington County Board of Elections say they're beginning to get things in order for the election.
The deadline for voters to get registered isn't until April 6th, but the deadline for candidates and levies to be put on the ballot is February 19th.
Board of Elections director, Peggy Byers, says if you want to include a levy that's the only one in the precinct, you may want to hold off until the November election, to save money.
"If you're going to put a single levy on, you bare the cost of your particular precinct all by yourself," Byers said.
The 2009 primary is set for May 5th.
