City officials in Marietta are taking steps to join all city administrative offices under one roof.
Mayor Michael Mullen says the city is looking to purchase the old Ohio Bureau of Employment Services building from the state, and making it the new city hall.
The cost of buying and renovating the building comes to about $1.5 million, which is about a quarter of how much a new structure would cost to build.
Mayor Mullen says it would be good for the city's government and its citizens.
"It gives people truly a one stop of here's how you do city business, and it's all on one floor in one building instead of strung out over three different buildings as we are currently occupied," Mayor Mullen said.
City council members will meet Wednesday evening to discuss the purchase.
A decision must be made by February 1st.
