The first lady of Ohio was in the area Wednesday on her mission to help family and children agencies in the state.
Frances Strickland made a stop at Washington State Community College to speak with representatives of family and children services.
Six counties in Southeastern Ohio sent six representatives each to discuss improving programs that are on a tight budget.
"I know we're asking a lot of them. You can just see the dedication in the fact that they're trying to be everything the community needs, and I hope the community recognizes that," Strickland said.
The group plans on meeting again at a later date to talk about what's working and what can be done differently.
