Wood County's commissioners are taking the next step toward developing Fort Boreman Hill as a public park.
The commissioners Monday interviewed representatives of three architectural firms interested in taking on the project. Bids from those firms are to be considered in a few weeks.
One unknown in the process is whether developers might discover some unknown artifacts, while doing their job.
"We don't know ahead of time what we're going to find. Archeology is a story, which builds ahead of time as it goes. You never know ahead of time what's going to happen. You just never know," says Will Updike.
Fort Boreman was used as a battleground during the Civil War, and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
