Wood County Schools' superintendent Bill Niday is set to spend another year with the county's school system.

Niday's contract was approved Tuesday night at the board of education meeting.

This will mark his seventh year as superintendent.

Niday said he has several goals he hopes to accomplish in the coming year; one of which is continuing the transition of bringing freshmen classes into the high schools.

"The community's invested a lot of money into that. We've invested a lot of time and effort and energy into that transition. I want to make sure that it's finished, and finished completely and finished well," Niday said.

Other goals Niday said he hopes to accomplish are deciding how to use the budget efficiently, and beginning a ten-year facilities plan to improve the county's school buildings.
