It's not as easy as it looks, but it appears a lot of people enjoy making animals out of wood, and editors of a national woodcarving magazine are judging wood-carved wildlife for a contest sponsored by woodcraft.
The entries were submitted to the company's stores nationwide, including the store located on Emerson Avenue, and participants weren't limited to professional carvers.
“They are woodcarvers from all over the country, who have entered in amateur, professional and junior categories. If a carver sells his work, and sells over a certain dollar amount a year, he's considered a professional carver, versus an amateur who does it purely for pleasure,” says Lori Mosser.
The public is being invited to vote in early November for the judge's choices in a variety of categories by logging on to: www.woodcraft.com
