Area Airports Getting Stimulus Money

Two area airport will be sharing in $3.3 million in federal stimulus funding for improvements.

The Mid Ohio Valley airport will be getting 500 thousand dollars.

The money will be used for improvements to the facilities taxiways.

The Jackson County airport will also be receiving 500 thousand dollars.

It will use the money for improvements and rehab to the area around the airport runways and taxiways.

The funding comes through the Federal Aviation Administration's Air Improvement Program.

The funding was announced by U.S. Senators Robert C. Byrd and Jay Rockefeller and Congressmen Nick Rahall and Alan Mollohan Wednesday Morning.
