Washington Co. Relay For Life Chosen To Participate In Cancer Study

Coming up in May is an opportunity for you to help out with a great cause that helps research and possibly battle cancer.

The Washington County Relay For Life is offering a chance to participate in a study looking at the causes for cancer.

The study is being conducted by the American Cancer Society's Department of Epidemiology.

Men and women are invited to take part.

To take part people just need to show at the May 15 Relay event at Belpre's Civitan Park.

The ultimate goal of the study is to enroll 500,000 adults from different backgrounds\races from across the country.

The purpose of the CPS-3(Cancer Prevention Study No.3) is to better understand different factors for cancer causes.

Roger Moore, the chair of CPS-3 Committee and Ginger McConnell, the Income Development Coordinator, for the American Cancer Society joined Allison Rhea on WTAP at 5 on Friday to discuss the study.
