Wood County School Public Relations Director Sue Woodward says the lockdown has been lifted at Williamstown High School.
The lockdown was lifted at around 12:25 pm.
Woodward adds that there will be an increased police presence around the school for the remainder of the afternoon.
Wood County authorities have closed down the streets around Williamstown High School because of a possible threat.
The threat is from outside the school in the community.
The school is on lock down.
Students are SAFE. There is no threat to students.
They are not being released.
The Williamstown Ppolice Department is investigating.
Wood County School Public Relations Director Sue Woodward says some students overheard a conversation Tuesday night in the Williamstown community in which there may have been talk of bringing something to the school.
Also according to Woodward, authorities know the names of the students that overheard the threat and are talking to them.
She adds that the school has been searched and nothing has been found.
