Mountain State Blue Cross Blue Shield has a new president.
The announcement was made at Monday's annual board meeting.
Fred Earley will become the next president of Mountain State Blue Cross Blue Shield July 1st.
He is replacing Greg Smith, who announced his retirement in March.
Earley is currently the Senior Vice President of External Operations.
Although he will replace Greg Smith as president, Smith will remain the Chairman of the Board.
Earley says he's excited to be taking on the new role.
"While there will be some changes with Greg's retirement, the core of our success is our employees and that's going to remain in place. I look forward to continuing to work with them in that capacity and serving our customers here in West Virginia," said Fred Earley.
Earley's July 1st start date is coincidentally the same time that workers will be moving into the new facility.
They expect to be completely in the new building by August 1st.
Earley says it's hard to say whether they will hire additional people given the state of the economy, but he says he's confident there will not be reductions.
