In the last election, Marietta voters chose to repeal an ordinance that didn't allow city funds to be spent on the purchasing or renovation of a new municipal court.
Now that the ordinance has been reversed, city officials are in the process of making the old Ohio Bureau of Employment Services building the new Marietta Municipal Court.
Judge Janet Dyar Welch says city officials met Tuesday to choose four architectural firms to be interviewed for the job.
She says that decision will be made within the next few weeks.
Judge Welch also says they're currently in the pre-design phase, which will be followed by the design and construction phases.
The Municipal Court is expected to be moved into the new building by the end of 2010.
