Charleston, W.Va. (Ap) -- Four transit agencies in West Virginia will share more than $4 million in federal stimulus funding awarded for improvements.
U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray Lahood said Thursday the funding is being made available through the federal transit administration assistance programs.
Lahood says the Monongalia County Urban Mass Transit Authority in Morgantown will buy three buses and the Mid-Ohio Valley Transit Authority in Parkersburg will buy six buses.
The Eastern Ohio/Ohio Valley Regional Transportation Authority will buy two buses, two paratransit vans, support vehicles and equipment.
The Eastern Panhandle Transit Authority will use the funding to pay for an expansion of its administrative and maintenance facility.
