Marietta Employees File Grievances

By Cathleen Moxley |

Two city employees in Marietta have filed grievances to get their jobs back.

Firefighter John Brooks and Police Officer Joseph Hilverding were terminated after 27-year-old Crystle Phillips made allegations of misconduct against them and other authority figures.

City Safety-Service Director Chad Presley says he has now received discharge grievances from Brooks and Hilverding.

Presley says both men, as well as the city, will have a chance to make statements about the grievances, before an arbitrator comes in to make a decision.
