Things just got easier for a local food program that picks up and delivers food around the community.
Harvest of Hope in Marietta just purchased a refrigerated truck.
The truck will be handy when picking up food from a variety of places, to be delivered to food pantries, shelters and senior centers.
Volunteers with the program say they usually make the deliveries with their personal vehicles, and this truck will especially be beneficial when the weather is hot.
"We'd pick up milk or ice cream, and we'd have to go pretty fast to get it delivered to our different spots. So, this is gonna be a great asset to have the truck," Bob Kelly, a volunteer, said.
The truck is being officially introduced at a company picnic Tuesday evening, and it's set to go into use immediately.
