Developers of a campground in Roane County that will cater to the gay community say it will give the county an economic boost.
Steve Magnusson and Eric McCarty are building the campground on an 83-acre site near Walton.
They plan to call it Longfork.
Magnusson says he expects Longfork to generate $5,000 to $10,000 a week in rentals.
The campground's mailbox has been vandalized several times and local residents have held two protests.
Magnusson says the protests apparently were triggered by rumors that Longfork will be clothing-optional, he says those rumors are false.
