It was a day filled with memories, both new and old.
Dozens of area World War II veterans boarded a plane bright and early Tuesday morning to take part in the Honor Flight to Washington D.C.
The veterans spent the day visiting some historic sites; specifically the World War II memorial that was constructed only five years ago.
The veterans and volunteers were also able to catch a glimpse of the Korean and Vietnam war memorials, as well as other monuments that represent specific branches of the military.
The group arrived back in the Mid-Ohio Valley Tuesday night to an airport packed with supporters.
