Defeated Drug Deal

It was first reported as an armed robbery, but now an incident early Monday morning outside a Parkersburg convenience store may be a drug deal gone bad.

Parkersburg police say Dennis Kelly of Spencer told them he was robbed at gunpoint outside of a Go-Mart store on Seventh Street, but upon further investigation, police say both Kelly and Mike Sams were involved in a failed drug deal.

Kelly is expected to be charged with filing a false police report. Police say they found some marijuana on Sams. He'll be charged with manufacturing a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
