High school students along with their parents attended this workshop Sunday at Washington State Community College.
They received help in both written and online form.
The workshop explained various types of federal aid to colleges and universities, especially for students who are graduating this year from area high schools.
"I think as far as selecting a college, it should start during sophomore or junior year," says David Metz, Financial Aid Director for Washington State Community College. "But as far as financial aid goes, a student is not eligible for federal aid until they graduate from high school. So, the senior year is early enough to begin that process."
Federal loans, grants and scholarships, as well as state aid are available to students.
