Fire Misses Mobile Home

The Eastwood Mineral Wells and Blennerhassett Volunteer Fire Departments were called out around 12:30 to the fire in a storage building on Little Addition Road.

The mobile home where Virgil Cain and his family lived was spared from any serious damage, but it was a close call.

"There's a trailer about four feet behind the building," says Deputy Chief Cliff Buckley of the Eastwood Volunteer Fire Department. "We had fire coming from the back of the building and were able to get it knocked down and keep the (mobile home) from catching fire. The building was full of tires, furniture, a four-wheeler, a wood burning stove; all kinds of stuff in there."

The building and its contents were a total loss, but no one was injured.
