The search continues for the vandals who overturned grave markers at a cemetery in Wood County.
Nothing could be more shattering than vandalizing a cemetery, and this was the case last Sunday where more than 40 tombstones were knocked down at the Bethany Christian Church in Wood County.
In addition to gravestones, the vandals also knocked down and stole several mailboxes and set bails of hay on fire.
Police believe that juveniles were responsible for the crimes. They found broken beer bottles near one of the gravestones.
The church where the graveyard is located serves families from Washington to Belleville.
If you have any information that could help investigators find those responsible, please contact Sergeant Brown with the West Virginia State Police at 304-420-4600.
