Experts say the gunman behind the Columbus-area sniper shootings is showing logic and daring by moving south down Interstate 71.
The shootings for months have been concentrated around Interstate 270, which circles Columbus, but authorities have now linked two shootings Sunday about 40 miles south of Columbus to 21 others in the Columbus area.
One person has died in the serial shootings, which have targeted vehicles, homes and schools. One of the victims has described the gunman as a middle-aged white male with a medium build.
Forensic psychologist NG Berrill says the shooter's growing target area could be a strategy to throw off police.
Clint Van Zandt, a former FBI agent, says serial criminals often start in the area where they live or work, then move out of their comfort zone as they become more successful.
