It's a project that's been in the works since 2002, and now crews have finally broken ground.
Tuesday is the second day of work for the wetlands restoration project in Williamstown.
For years the Williamstown Woman's Club has been planning to make the wetlands a relaxing learning environment for the public and local school groups.
"This is the first physical thing you're seeing with all this dirt coming in and things like that, and to see that path going down through there is something I've envisioned for a long long time, and it's great to see it finally," Betsy Caltrider with the Williamstown Woman's Club said.
The biggest part of the first phase includes building a path around the entire area, and crews expect that to be complete by December.
