Parkersburg's K-9 program is getting a little added protection.
Wood County Sheriff's and Parkersburg Police Department officials presented the vested dog program with a $1,000 check.
The group helps provide bulletproof vests for the dogs used in police investigations.
"Anything that's left over I hope they can get all the things they need," says Jennifer Tansey, who's involved with the program. "They need a new bite suit, there's plenty of things they need."
The program began raising money for the K-9 items late last year. So far, it has raised $1,500.
