Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital gets $150,000 from the organization representing the hospital's volunteers.
The money will be used for the expansion of the hospital's patient and critical care units, as well as for student scholarships.
The auxiliary, which held its annual luncheon Wednesday, provides the hospital with a variety of volunteer services.
"The volunteers offer assistance to medical records, escort service, and same-day care," says Auxiliary President Elaine Glibert. "They provide free wigs, caps and turbans to our cancer patients."
The money comes from donations to a variety of fundraising campaigns the auxiliary held during the past year.
"If they had to pay the employees for everything we did, I'm sure it would be a considerable amount," Glibert says.
