A Parkersburg man's death after a single vehicle accident Saturday night has been ruled an undetermined natural death.
Wood County Sheriff Deputy B.A. Pickens said the West Virginia Medical Examiner's Office ruled the death an undetermined natural death.
Deputy Pickens said Edward Knotts backed a car out of a driveway, crossed both lanes of traffic on the 1100 block of Route 47, and went over an embankment.
Deputy Pickens said Knotts called his parents after the accident and said he was OK but then he stopped breathing.
Deputy Pickens said the cause of death had nothing to do with the car accident.
A man died Saturday night after a single vehicle accident in Wood County.
According to the Wood County Sheriff's Office, 60-year-old Edward C. Knotts backed out of a driveway onto West Virginia Route 47 in the 1100 block of Leachtown around 8:00 p.m.
Knotts apparently crossed both lanes of traffic and then went over an embankment.
Officers said he was pronounced dead on the scene.
The sheriff's office is investigating.
